เสริมหน้าผาก (Forehead Augmentation) Soften and add dimension to your facial features.
Reveal confidence from every angle.

A flat, sunken, or indented forehead often makes the overall face look harsh, dull, and lacking dimension. Forehead augmentation is therefore a popular option today, not only to create a beautifully rounded forehead according to the principles of physiognomy, but also to make the face look younger and softer naturally.

Why is forehead augmentation necessary?
Forehead augmentation effectively addresses facial structure issues as follows:

  • Add dimension to your face: Helps to make the forehead appear fuller, complementing the nose and chin, creating a balanced (S-Line) facial shape.

  • Reduce wrinkles: Filling helps to tighten the skin on the forehead, reducing fine folds or wrinkles.

  • Improving facial features: According to belief, a full forehead reflects intelligence, prestige, and abundance.

  • Softens the face: Reduces the harshness of the brow bone, giving the face a softer, Korean-style look.

Popular forehead augmentation materials: Which type should you choose for perfect results and long-term safety?

When it comes to forehead augmentation surgery, the most common question patients ask their doctors is, "Which material should I use?" Because the forehead is a wide area at the top of the face, choosing the wrong material could result in visible edges or an unnatural appearance. Fortunately, medical technology has developed a variety of materials to meet the diverse needs and requirements of different facial structures.

1. Preformed Silicone

The most popular standard material of all time, made from medical-grade silicone that is soft and highly flexible. Available in multiple sizes from S to XL and with various levels of raisedness.

  • Why it's interesting: This type of silicone helps create the appearance of a more prominent forehead, ideal for those with very flat foreheads or who want a permanently fuller facial appearance. A key advantage is the material's high stability; it doesn't collapse over time, and it can be easily removed if needed.

2. Customized Silicone Molds

This advanced innovation provides a perfect 1:1 fit, where doctors use a CT scan of the face to create a custom silicone implant that conforms to each patient's individual bone structure.

  • Why it's worth considering: It significantly reduces the appearance of visible silicone edges because the silicone sheet adheres seamlessly to the forehead bone, providing the most natural-looking result among all silicone materials. It's ideal for those with asymmetrical foreheads or localized indentations.

3. Autologous Fat Grafting

An alternative for those who do not want to insert foreign materials into their bodies is to have excess fat liposuction from the abdomen or thighs, process the fat cells to separate the high-quality ones, and then inject them back into the forehead.

  • Why it's worth considering: It provides the smoothest, most natural-looking skin and helps brighten the complexion on the forehead using stem cells from the fat. However, some fat may be broken down (approximately 30-50%) depending on self-care and individual body condition. Therefore, some individuals may need repeat injections to maintain the desired shape.

4. Artificial tissue materials in the e-PTFE (Gore-Tex) group.

Microporous synthetic materials are often preferred in areas where a high degree of naturalness is desired and concerns about material movement are raised.

  • Why it's interesting: Its porous structure allows body tissue to grow and adhere to the material, resulting in the forehead appearing as a true part of the face, remaining immobile, and significantly reducing the long-term risk of scar tissue formation.

Pre-operative preparation steps

  1. Consult a doctor thoroughly: to assess the appropriate height and contour for your facial proportions.

  2. Avoid medications and supplements: Avoid those that affect blood clotting (e.g., aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil) for at least 2 weeks.

  3. Inform your medical history: If you have any pre-existing conditions or allergies to medications, you must inform your doctor in advance.

  4. Wash your hair thoroughly: Since the scar is often hidden in the hairline, it's important to clean your scalp thoroughly the day before surgery.

Self-care after surgery

  • Apply a cold compress: During the first 48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising.

  • Sleeping with your head elevated on a pillow can help reduce swelling faster.

  • Keep the wound clean: Strictly follow your doctor's instructions and attend your scheduled appointment for suture removal.

  • Avoid strenuous activity: Refrain from strenuous exercise or any impact to the forehead during the first month.
